1.    Accessibility requirements and applicable criteria

The requirements for digital accessibility are defined by Legislative Decree of May 27, 2022, No. 82 “Implementation of Directive (EU) 2019/882 of the European Parliament and of the Council of April 17, 2019, on the accessibility requirements for products and services”, which refers to the UNI EN 301549 standard for technical specifications.

Specifically, website compliance must be assessed against the criteria indicated in chapters 9 “Web” and 10 “Non-web documents”, which reference the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at levels A+AA.

The four fundamental principles of digital accessibility, as stated in WCAG 2.1, are:

  • Perceivable – Content is presented in a clear and understandable way.
  • Operable – The interface can be easily navigated by all users.
  • Understandable – Information and operations are intuitive and easy to interpret.
  • Robust – The site is compatible with the most common assistive technologies.

In accordance with the above-mentioned UNI EN 301549 standard, which clearly lists the 50 success criteria to be considered when evaluating a website's accessibility, technical analyses were conducted on the website’s content, including both textual and non-textual information, downloadable documents and forms, and forms of bidirectional interaction, such as the handling of digital forms and the completion of authentication, identification, and payment processes.

Areas excluded from application

Article 1, paragraph 5 of Legislative Decree No. 82/2022 states that the provisions of the decree do not apply to the following website content and mobile applications:

  • pre-recorded time-based media published before June 28, 2025;
  • office file formats published before June 28, 2025;
  • maps and online mapping services, provided that essential navigation information is delivered in a digitally accessible format;
  • third-party content not funded, developed, or controlled by the concerned economic operator;
  • website and mobile app content considered archives, meaning they only contain content that has not been updated or edited after June 28, 2025.

2. General service description

This website is intended for end consumers and offers a sales service for the Alpha Studio brand, allowing users to discover, select, and purchase the company’s products. Users can explore the site using filters, add items to their cart or wishlist, register to access a personal area, and manage orders, returns, and personal data. In addition to supporting the complete purchase flow, the site also allows users to buy a gift card, subscribe to the newsletter, find the nearest store, consult customer service, and contact the company.

3. Service Functionality

The website is accessible from desktop, tablet, and smartphone devices using the main web browsers currently on the market and is available in Italian, English, and French.

The site navigation is designed to be intuitive and consistent, via a main menu that allows direct access to the most relevant sections (women's and men's products, store locator, and company information).

Below is a detailed explanation of the main services offered by the site:

  • browse products: users can browse the different products offered by accessing the menu items divided into women and men, and selecting the desired product type from the dropdown menu.
  • add products to favorites: users can save products of interest by clicking on the dedicated icon in the preview or on “Add to wishlist” on the product detail page. All items added to favorites are visible on the “Wishlist” page, accessible from the menu. From here, users can add them to the cart or remove them.
  • make a purchase: users can purchase the desired products by selecting the product of interest and clicking the “add to cart” button on the product detail page, after selecting the size. To proceed to checkout, users must click the dedicated icon at the top, continue on the checkout screen, log in or enter their information without registering, and select a payment method. Once all fields are completed, the order can be submitted to finalize the purchase.
  • purchase a gift card: gift cards can be purchased by accessing the dedicated menu item. On the page, users fill out a short form with the necessary information and add the gift card to the cart. The purchase process then continues like any other product.
  • access the reserved area: the site allows users to register and access their personal area by clicking the upper pop-up menu and selecting either “register” or “login.” By entering the required information, users can access their account or create one.
  • request a return: return requests can be submitted by both registered and unregistered users. Simply access the “Request a return” section from the menu and fill out the dedicated form. Registered users can also send the request directly from their personal area.
  • search navigation: users can directly search for a product by entering a keyword in the search bar located at the top of the page (header).
  • filter navigation: on product pages, users can refine their search using various types of filters.
  • request information: users can request information via email, phone, or by filling out a form. Relevant details are available on the “Contact” page accessible from the footer menu.
  • consult customer service: users can access a dedicated FAQ page by clicking the customer service menu item located in the header or footer.
  • subscribe to the newsletter: users can subscribe to the newsletter by entering their email in the designated field on the homepage and clicking the “register now” button.
  • consult the store locator: under the “stores” menu item, users can view all the brand’s retail locations, including address, opening hours, phone number, and email.

4. Compliance with Accessibility Requirements

To improve accessibility and user experience, FFW S.r.l. has integrated the UserWay PRO accessibility widget into the website referenced in this statement. Its use by website users is completely free and helps improve the site’s compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1).
UserWay PRO offers numerous features to enhance website accessibility and user experience through a dedicated panel viewable by clicking the widget icon or using the keyboard shortcut CTRL+U, as listed below.

  • Screen Reader: reads all page content aloud without needing to install an external reader.
  • Dictionary: allows access to dictionary definitions without leaving the website. Essential for users with cognitive disabilities, non-native English speakers, and more.
  • Larger Text: increases on-screen text size with four different levels, making all parts of the site more readable.
  • Saturation: adjusts site color intensity to high, low, or grayscale.
  • Contrast: inverts website colors or allows switching between light and dark contrast modes.
  • Smart Contrast: ensures all site colors fully comply with ADA standards for enhanced visibility.
  • Highlight Links: highlights links, buttons, and other interactive elements with high-contrast, bright colors for easier identification and usability.
  • Stop Animations: pauses content that moves or auto-updates, preventing distractions and reducing the risk of seizures in sensitive users.
  • Text Spacing: adjusts text and line spacing to improve readability for dyslexic and visually impaired users, offering three levels of adjustment.
  • Line Height: increases line height for more comfortable spacing across all site text.
  • Text Alignment: aligns site text left, right, or center to offer a personalized and more accessible reading experience.
  • Dyslexia Font: the “UserWay Dyslexia Friendly” font improves readability and provides a smoother reading experience for visitors with dyslexia.
  • Big Cursor: increases the cursor size by 400% so it is always visible, allowing quicker and more accessible navigation across links, tabs, and form elements.
  • Tooltips: displays alternative text and ARIA labels for screen elements with a simple mouseover. These tips are high-contrast and easy to read for users with low vision.
  • Page Structure: clearly reveals page titles, landmarks, and links in an organized, accessible, and easy-to-navigate format. It helps all users, disabled or not, find content more efficiently.

In addition to the functions users can activate via the accessibility menu, the UserWay PRO widget can detect numerous non-compliance issues and perform real-time corrections without altering the source code, modifying only what the browser renders on screen. This makes the website more accessible to all end users, including those using assistive technologies.

Web content accessibility for users who rely on assistive technologies such as screen readers, alternative keyboards, or voice commands is further supported by ARIA attributes. These attributes help describe the role, state, and properties of UI elements, communicate dynamic interactions (e.g., expandable menus, modals, sliders) to screen readers, and support keyboard navigation through complex components.

Additional Accessibility Requirements for E-commerce Services

The service ensures accessible functionality for user identification, security, and payment, even through systems that render features in a perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust format.

Regarding electronic payments, the site uses the market’s leading providers, listed below:

Compliance Status

To determine the website’s compliance status, the guidelines and evaluation checklist provided by AgID were used.

This website is partially compliant with the requirements outlined in Appendix A of the UNI CEI EN 301549 standard and, having been published before 28/06/2025, the company intends to ensure full compliance upon the future release of a new version of the website.

5. Accessibility Monitoring Process

In future updates of the website, FFW S.r.l. will devote particular attention to ensuring that service delivery complies with digital accessibility regulations, possibly with support from external consultants for the following activities:

  • technical accessibility audit through a gap analysis;
  • user testing of key user flows, including with assistive technologies;
  • analysis of third-party technologies, plugins, and services used on the site;
  • reporting of gaps and non-conformities identified through audits and tests;
  • validation of corrections made to address non-conformities;
  • preparation of accessibility documentation for public use;
  • training staff on best practices for digital accessibility;
  • establishing internal policies and support procedures for handling user assistance requests.

FFW S.r.l. also plans to periodically conduct technical audits to monitor website accessibility over time, possibly with support from third-party digital accessibility experts, to implement improvements based on user feedback.

In such cases, audits will be conducted by an external accessibility consultant using the latest tools and methods in accordance with current regulations. These will include semi-automated code checks, manual user tests, and use of assistive technologies.
